Spring - What's in it for me?

Bundle up the decorations, toss away the tree
Hide away the Royal Dalton, mugs again for tea!
Chuck away teh Christmas cards, all dangling from string,
Turn on the electric blanket, sleep until the spring.

When the snow and fog have cleared, and Spring comes round at last,
Will it feel all that different with March's windy blast?
And what about that flaming rain which April's meant to bring?
I fail to see why people get excited about Spring.

It may be warmer, but trust me, it won't last very long,
It's no good feeling energetic, bursting into song!
We all know what this climate's like, the change from day to day,
We'll have "T" shirts in April, and thermals on in May!

It may be very pretty when the Crocus and the Daff
Look glorious on one day, and teh next day looking naff.
You can bet your bottom dollar, just asthey begin to show,
A hurican will knock 'em dead, ...... or twenty feet of snow!!

Another thing! those birds have got a lot to answer for,
What do they they'e IdoingI, raising Cain at half past four!
They may well feel like warbling and having it away
But me, ...sap never rises until way beyond midday!

So, you can have your Spring and everything that it entails,
The birth of bugs and fleas and flies, spiders, slugs and snails,
email for the last two lines!

You are welcome to use an existing poem if it fits the bill, but just to give me some feedback, please email Time for Rhyme for the last two lines.
